Classic Car, Substitute 1971 Dodge Challenger Fender Clip, Wide Chrome "Spring Package"

3DPrintedCarPartDescription
I designed these for a friend that is restoring a 1971 Dodge Challenger, that had the "Spring Package" Wide Nose Chrome Moldings. The "Spring Package" is found on the 1971 Dodge Challenger only, and was a one year option. The clips are used to attached the two fender wide chrome moldings only. I created two different versions that were suitable for 3-D printing. I printed them in PETG at a 45° angle. This was a good compromise between minimal supports and strength. I think it's important to stay away from 0° as that would line up the the layers with the fender sheet metal and could lead to delamination. Due to outside temperatures I use PETG even though ABS does have a higher temperature profile it can have problems with layer adhesion. I did a little Torque testing with both designs in Polymax PLA and PETG and they all came in at about 17 in-lbs. Hope this helps the classic car community. If this helps please leave a comment and/or a maker picture. UPDATED 1/20/2020 I added a new file that will print with no support and is ready to print, no rotation needed. I cut off 1mm from the edge so it would sit flat. File name EZ_Print... Recommend: Perimeters 4, 100% infill, no support, 0.2mm layers, already rotated, (PETG or ABS) and no brim needed but can be added. Also I printed 4 at a time to give it cooling time between layers.
