Description

This simple part replaces a broken door lock knob on a 1996 Daihatsu Hijet. It may fit many other vehicles. The outer diameter is 8 mm and the inner diameter is 4.4 mm. It's 35 mm long and the blind hole is 20 mm deep. The threaded shaft for the door lock threads onto the door lock knob even though the blind hole isn't threaded. I've included the FCStd file if you'd like to modify the part in FreeCAD, although the part is so simple it'd probably be easier to draw what you need. I printed this part in a high durometer TPU filament and the small part is very tough. Pulling is across the layers which is not a good idea but the bonding between layers on this tiny part is very good, probably because the previous layer is still molten when the subsequent later is deposited. This is a theft-proof design, because there is no outward flare at the top of the knob for tools presented around the door trim to grab the knob and unlock the door.
