Description

Working on some movie accurate Ecto-1 models for the Kenner The Real Ghostbusters Ecto-1, and thought I'd share the hubcap wheel center cap. The emblem is available as a separate model, and I'll post the whole hubcap once I finish it. As with the emblem, I used the MikeLane Mods emblem as a reference along with the Eaglemoss Ecto-1, along with images of 1959 Cadillac hubcaps. The font I settled on was Henriette Compressed Medium, though it isn't quite accurate, the D needs to be narrowed along with a few other changes. Additionally, I didn't add a bevel to the text, as it was just causing too many issues with the mesh. Maybe in the future I'll give the embossed text a softer edge to create a more accurate model. The emblem is raised more than the reference so it will be visible when printed and easier to paint. To create a more accurate representation, it would be embossed on the wheel cap, but for the purposes of this model, I wanted the details to be more visible. Hope you enjoy.
