Description

This is a mobile phone mount for the 2016 to 2019 (or more) Kia Niro (left hand drive). It is held in place by tabs 2 print-in-place tabs built into the design. I designed the mount to minimize obstruction the vent as much as possible which unfortunately resulted in the need for supports during printing. Printing... This is printed on its side left with supports enabled. Print direction is important as to orientate the fixing-tap layer lines correctly. Use PETG or perhaps ABS - but not PLA, it will melt on the hot days. I have used PETG and that seems to work OK so far - need to wait for summer though. My example was printed using a 0.8mm nozzle on an Ender 3. The support face look a bit ugly as a result of the larger nozzle. To install this you will need a spudger to open up the tiny gap between the dashpad and vent face and CAREFULLY wiggle the holder in place - repeat for the lower tab. The mount has holes which allows general attachment of a mobile "clamp". I myself use the FLOVEME Gravity Car Phone Holder which i purchase from Aliexpress. The FLOVEME adapter included here will fit inplace of the original vent holder. I have 2 cars using the FLOVEME and have had no problems over 5 years - they work well. I can create a mirror version of this for the right hand drive folk if required - send me a PM.
