Description

This is a remix of OmgPhams Bonnet Prop: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4783340. Before committing to Carbon I first tried this with 8mm threaded stainless rod. I found the recommended rod length of 280mm too long, my bonnet doesn't open far enough. For me, approx 265mm was ideal. I have opened up the bore of end end piece to provide a sufficient glue gap and internal features to better "anchor" the glue. (not really necessary but best industry practices when sticking shit to carbon). The angular orientations of the end pieces differ from left to right hand side, so best glue in situ on the car. I have printed a little saw guide to make it easier to cut the carbon tube whilst minimizing fraying of the fibres. Additionally I have printed a bracket to store the props in the engine bay when not in use. The Props (rather satisfyingly) clip into the Bracket which cable tied to Diagnosis Box bracket on the LHS of the engine bay.
