NA Miata JDM Flare Holder

3DPrintedCarPartDescription
Have you ever looked in the footwell of your NA Miata and noticed two holes in the kick panel? Those are for a bracket that holds a road flare in Japanese market Miatas! This means that the flare bracket is only available from Japaneses Miatas, so I bought one and replicated it. My replica isn't perfect, but the dimensions are all correct. Unfortunately I cannot find a reasonable way to print it that will give it the quality and strength I'm looking for. So, I made a second version that can be easily printed in four parts and then assembled with either plastic cement or with M3 screws and heat-set inserts. The main body is simple to print. The holes for the inserts are meant for a brass M3x4mm heat set insert, specifically these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333827100777 The "arms" that hold the flare should be printed as pictured in the screenshot with the edge of the screw flange touching the buildplate. Use supports for this. The peg is a peg. Print carefully. Assembly is simple. You need 4x M3 inserts and 4x M3 screws about 6mm long. Insert the brass inserts and screw the arms to the main body. The peg should be glued or cemented into its hole. Installation required 1 trim clip or plastic rivet that will fit through the hole in the bracket and the kick panel. I have included the Fusion 360 files in the hopes that someone might want to make improvements or refinements. If you do this, please share with the class! I would love to learn from more experienced designers.
