Description

A common issue of OPEL Corsa D is the broken vent grill. The horizontal adjustment not working, fins stuck. Looking into the issue I fount that there are mainly two root causes for this: 1) The vertical fins are stuck, rotates very hard due to high friction (due to dirt, leak of lubricant etc.) with the vent case; 2) The holder of the vertical fins knob is cracked as you can see in one of the attached pictures. This causes a lose of the vertical fins moving mechanism which loses mechanical contact to the vertical fins so they are not moving anymore. Here is what I have done to fix the problem: - Cleaned the vent grill of dirt and old lubricant; - Enlarged the holes into which the vertical fins are fixed by about 0.2 mm (top and bottom as well, see attached pictures) so they will rotate more easily; - mounted a fixing mechanism for the fins rotating mechanism so mechanical contact is tighten, see attacked.stl file for the fixing piece. - The fixing fiece is mounted using an M3 screw and not, you will have to drill a 3.5 mm hole in the case of the vent grill as shown in the pictures. - lucricate mechanism and job done!
