Description

The original shift knob drove me mad for two reasons. First the automatic-button was such loose and weak it always triggered the switch more than once. Each time using it I had to look at the display and check which mode was activated. Second -plain and simple- it just struck me kind of out-fashioned... Print those parts as shown in the screen-shot. A few supports will be neccessary to your printers setup und likings. The pin is to be glued into the button with a product of your choice, I used some cyanacrylate. The pin is kind of longer as needed, you would have to shorten it fitting to the micro switch at the shift-rod. The "C" and the "triangle" on top of the lid are to be glued to the lid with something of your choice. The ring and small "button" are just for centering the lid onto the top part. Although designed with reasonable give it could be tricky to put tose parts together for the unavoidable "elephants foot" at the first layers. I used a little (little and short!!!) heat of a small blowtorch at the grooves in the lid and top part to get those "helpers" in. They are not mandatory but I liked to have the the lid centered mechanically.... There is enough room for the cables to just stick the knob onto the shift rod ready assembled. The screw from the front side is to fasten the knob to the rod. Vitamins are... 6 M3 square nuts 5 Allen screws M3 x 18 1 counter sunk screw M3 x 10 1 spring of a ball pen, cut in half and somewhat shortened I now am happy with my new shift-knob. Looks quite cool and works exactly as indended. Made with PETG from these guys https://www.3dpsp.de/ as all my other printer parts. This stuff turned out to be quite fine to process. It is quite sturdy, no problems with adhesion at all. And really nice and brilliant colours for a reasonable price. https://youtu.be/gL5JQwdUfhM https://youtu.be/6P49V-wKajE
