Description

Hello this is an alternative sliding cover for rear console ashtray in an e46. Both my brothers and my e46 were missing the covers and its a bit of a pricey piece to replace for what it is. I printed in PLA+ with layer lines running against the slats to prevent breakage. Id recommend something like PETG but so far so good in our cars! Included is a 10min test piece file to check fitment and flexibility of your material. You can bend bottom of the cover gently to the curve of the slot before inserting first time to make it go in smooth. If the top of the cover with handle isnt flush when first installed you can bend it up a bit until its flat. I did what I had to do make it work with PLA+ so flexible parts between the slats are only 2 layers(.4mm) but no issues still very strong and functional. I'd love to see some remixes with different handle designs, Im working on a sleeker handle but no ETA right now. All credit goes to JMecky and all the original roll top box creators. enjoy: )
