Description

Converting the U.S. style Fiat 500 tail lights to the Euro version is a popular modification. The lights themselves are expensive enough, but center panels for these lights sell for around $150 which seems excessive to me. My first generation panel was a simple panel with a cutout for the Abarth Scorpion logo. I used the outline of an Abarth Scorpion logo posted by MiguelBi for the pattern. This is the version shown in the photographs. Unfortunately, it leaves some poorly supported parts of the scorpion which will no doubt warp over time. So the second generation, which are the files included here, consists of two parts. The base with the raised scorpion logo along with an overlay. The two pieces should be glued together, producing a more robust panel. Attach the panel to the tail lights with several pieces of two-sided tape. I like 3-M automotive trim tape. I printed the overlay in E-Sun warm white which is a close match for my car's body color. I printed the scorpion logo in E-Sun fire engine red because the accent details on my car are done in red. Suit yourself on what colors to use. I printed the overlay panels on a textured sheet which produced a nice surface finish.
