Description

Replica of a headliner switch panel from a 2004 BMW X3 with a hole cut out for the screen from a cheap back up camera monitor (without the case). Some prototyping tried on an Afinia H800, modded a bit and sent to Shapeways. Should know if it works in the future. Walls are a bit thin around sensor vents, but otherwise ok for their standards. Gave a lot of issues to the Afinia because of size... let me know if anyone has success, it's a pretty unique part though so I don't imagine it to be too popular. Oh and the little clip holders are made to re-use original metal clips. Update: Shapeways print was a success. Posted pics. Now I just have to wire the camera etc. they did bust off one of the side clips in shipping and are sending me a new print, but I'll likely just keep this one. So I may post the new one on eBay or somethin. The hole for the monitor was upside down- but that's fine, I can just install the camera upside down too. If the monitor is reversed, it just doesn't look as flush, but also fine.
