Description

Simple mount which plugs into the bottom hole on most any typical rubber duck used to duck a Jeep and then clips onto the leading edge of the dash. Print Tips Use your preferred heat-resistant filament. I have been using ABS, but PETG or ASA will likely work. Even so, best not to leave car parked in hot sun on the daily. Even with ABS, I had trouble with warping in Arizona summers parked in the driveway during the week. If you must, you can get away with PLA if you liver somewhere cool, never park in direct sun and never turn the defroster on full. lol Use supports for the "pedestal" so that the tunnel prints clean. I have terrible results with ABS support but I can still get the notch clean enough with a little scraping with a pocket knife. Glue the pieces together with any CA/super glue or other strong adhesive you like for your chosen material. CA and ABS take time to grab so make sure you hold them firmly for a minute or two. Be mindful of elephant's footing as with my ABS the base likes to squish quite a bit and ends up needing some sanding or shaving with a knife blade to get it back to flat so the pedestal sits square. If printing the base individually, you may need to use the "base_helper" file if you don't trust your bed adhesion on small protrusions. Installation Duck is best installed by squeezing it so the bottom pops out and then force it onto the pedestal peg. May have to wiggle it around to let air back inside and allow it to return to shape. But it will NEVER fall off.;) Install on dash by inserting the thin tail of the mount under the lip of the dash cover which houses the airbag or instrument cluster, then press the nose over the leading dash in front of the vent. Note: I made it too tall so you will want to aim it between the ribs in the vent slot.
