Description

Do you have a 1990 NA Miata? Do you want to put a removable steering wheel hub on it? This part replaces the "Clockspring" wire mechanism that connects the airbag and horn wiring to the old steering wheel. ## Additional parts: - You'll need a little piece of brass, bent to form a wiper. I used K&S Precision Metals #8240 0.032x1/4" brass strip. Commonly available in US hardware stores. - A #4 (3mm) wood screw to attach the wiper. - A 3.3Ohm resistor to delete the airbag and silence the dash light. ## General instructions: - Remove the clockspring mechanism, wiring harness and all. - Cut the wire leads into and out of the clockspring flush with the mechanism - Rewire them back together. - Bridge the airbag wires with the 3.3Ohm resistor - Zip-tie the new wiring harness onto the adapter. - Cut and bend the brass spring. See pictures. - Assemble your detachable hub, checking the wiring and contacts as you go. Good luck!
