Description

This is the console lid stay for an NB2 Miata MX-5 console lid, the piece that holds the lid open in the upright position. The curved arm has a small tab in the end that holds it open, which cracked on my original lid stay, not allowing the lid to stay open. Included is my original STL file which was made to look as close to the original part as possible. However that design is meant more for injection molding, as the OEM parts are made. The simplified version is better suited for 3D printing on its side. The finished part fits perfectly on the console lid, with the included guide pins. I did have to sand the tab on the end just a bit to get it to go through the hole in the console. I don't think the tab is quite as flexible as the original plastic part. But after moving the console lid up and down a few times, it seems to work quite well. This piece replaces Mazda part number N0666445221 (tan) and N0666445202 (black). They may still be available from some websites, but most say they are discontinued at this point.
