Description

When installing an "add a fuse" accessory to the fuse box underneath the steering column of a 3rd gen Tacoma, it is impossible to fit the stock fuse cover back on without modification. This fuse box cover is intended to provide added clearance and cutouts to route an "add a fuse" type module. 10/7/19 - I finally got around to printing it (see pictures above). It was a snug fit but it is mostly functional. I need to add some more height and then I can begin carving sections out and adding the finer details. 9/16/19 - v1.0 files uploaded. I started from nothing and modeled this from the ground up within OnShape. Both the STL and STEP files are included here. I will be printing this soon and making fitment adjustments as necessary since I'm sure it will be in need of a few tweaks. 1/6/19 - v0.1 files uploaded 1/3/19 - I made some improvements to improve printability and design changes that mirror the original fuse cover. I still have not had time for a test fit but this model is looking a lot better in this regard. A few improvements listed below: - Increased wall thickness to approximately 1.2mm - Increased the extrusion of inner ridges by about 1mm to a total of 2mm - Added a 45 degree angle to the underside of the extruded inner ridges - Revised locking tab so that the overhang prints a lot better - Reduced angle on lower part of locking tab - Revised fuse cover (still unprinted and untested) These changes cannot be uploaded from work unfortunately but will be put on here sometime today with a new label to identify them. COMING SOON - A test fit of the fuse cover - Cutouts for fuse wiring - Extruded text on the fuse cover to identify each individual fuse 12/28/2018 - At this moment, this is very much in a prototype state. I haven't done test fit due to immediate issues with my initial draft print. What is currently available here are some off the cuff changes that I have yet to print myself and inspect visually or even do a test print of. The fuse cover top remains entirely unprinted and untested. Cutouts will be added in the next version of this thing. Sketchup source files added along with the most current STL if you would like to print This is very much a work in progress so please stay tuned for new revisions and updates on this project. Feedback and remixes welcome.
