Renault Kangoo FC01 Radio Box
Shared by
3DPrintedCarPartDescription
The radio is built into the dashboard deep below most of the other elements in my Renault Kangoo (first series) by default. This makes it almost impossible to read its display, so I wanted to place it on top of the dashboard where it would be clearly visible. Another drawback of the default place for the radio is that my Blaupunkt Cupertino does not properly fit in there - it is to long and can only be used protruding from the slot in the dashboard - ugly. By default there is some sort of digital clock and "fasten seat belt" warning lights on top of the dashboard, both of which I will not miss if replaced with the radio in my custom box. That one is a single - but quite big - part to fit the radio into and itself on top of the dashboard. It replaces the hood where the clock was and can be fitted with a DIN-1 frame for a standard radio module - see photo. Please note: Some cable adapters may be also necessary, e. g. for the radio antenna. On top my radio box has space for small things that can't fall off driving through bends:-)... and an iPad will find a stable stand in the slot in case one would want to navigate with it or use it as a music player (please do *not* watch video while driving!).
