Description

As a huge Waze fan, I needed a cradle to display Waze vertically in my line of sight. Commerical cradles wobble or use wonky suction cups. Version 1 was used for a full year with no problems other than being a bit fugly. I printed version 2 in ABS and PLA. PLA warped horribly inside of a week. The ABS stood up well for a week vacation in Flordia with cabin temps in the 140-150 F range though your mileage may vary over time. Version 3 is my final version. It's printed in PLA at 105% X axis, 105 Y axis, and 98% Z axis. To be safe, I printed at 100% density to reduce shrinkage, but this was probably overkill. You must anneal if using PLA or Tough PLA. Using a home convection oven, I heat up to 170 F, place prints on a ceramic tile in the bottom of the oven, heat for 1 hour, turn off the oven and let cool in the oven with door close for 3+ hours. The base holder attaches to the rear of the touch screen with velcro. The cradle is attached to the holder using 2 M4 -35mm bolts and 2 M4 wingnuts though tolerance is loose so a number of sizes will work. Once mounted, you can slide the cradle over the screen and tighten everything down to prevent movement. You can resize the cradle before printing to fit your phone. As is, this cradle supports a Galaxy Note 9+ and Note 10+. The 2 piece system allows for ideal placement.
