Description

This is a panel to house a remote for a Uniden R3 radar detector designed to fit is console of a Tesla Model 3. There are also provisions for a 12v cigarette lighter adapter + 2 USB power adapters plus a spot for an on/off switch so that power can be turned off discreetly for the radar unit. One of the USB power ports faces inside for the purpose of powering a wireless phone charging pad and freeing up the stock USB ports for dashcam USB key and music USB key. The panel should be flocked with material to give it a nice finish and the flocking is considered into the dimensions to ensure fit. The spot for the Uniden remote is quite tight and may need some minor filing as the remote is designed to be pressure fit. To secure the back panel I actually drilled a couple holes and used zip ties - as this is in the back, it can not be seen. There are also 2 brackets to hold the panel in place. You may or may not need them as the panel will fit tight with pressure. If you decide to use the brackets, they can be zip tied in place by drilling holes or using strong double-sided tape. Tip. Solder and heat shrink all wiring. Make sure you don't have excess length wiring to ensure everything fits. There's not a lot of room to cram it all in. Most of the parts were purchased on Amazon.
