2000 Tacoma Hood Support Rod Holder
Description
Broke my 22 year old OEM Nylon rod holder. So, naturally, decided to 3d print one. Was more difficult than I expected simply because I don't have nylon filament. I printed this with PETG, and the only issue is that it was really difficult to get in. Nylon would likely be better, both for flexibility and durability. Would not recommend PLA, simply for temperature reasons, secondarily for lack of flexibility. Print on side, no supports needed. For install, notice that the model is asymmetrical. Insert deeper side first, then insert second side. It is a tight fit and will need encouragement. I recommend a flat head screwdriver and don't put pressure on the pieces that hold the metal rod.
