Description

Front Center Vent Mount for Fire 8 Tablet Printing: I printed this mount using an Ender 3 with a 0.6mm nozzle, an initial layer height of 0.2, and a layer height of 0.4. Printed with 2 walls (because the line thickness is 2.4mm), 2 top layers, and 2 bottom layers. My hot end temp is 250C and the bed temp is 75C. Print speed is 70mm/s. I used brim support to make sure the mount didn't get warped during the print. Took about 25 minutes to print one mount (height of 1cm/10mm). Two mounts required to hold the tablet to the dashboard vent. I have included the SVG file (Cadey_vent_2021_JUNE28_v1_prepath.svg should be the easiest to modify) so that the mount dimensions can be adjusted to fit other devices. To turn the SVG file into an STL file that you can print use the linear_extrude() function in openscad with the imported SVG. You can drag the SVG file into openscad and it'll import it. I'm just throwing this on Thingiverse b/c it took a while to get the mount design to this point. Hope this is helpful to someone! Thanks.
