2012 Escape S8 phone mount
Shared by
3DPrintedCarPartDescription
This is a vehicle specific phone mount for the older style Ford Escape (through 2012). It is also specific to the Samsung S8 though some other phones may fit. It hooks on the left side of the center console, and a tab on the back fits into a horzontal gap between two parts of the trim to hold it vertically. The location is such that the phone does not obscure any vehicle displays, vents, or the road. It makes a great offline GPS using OSM for android. My only concern is that the phone may get hot if exposed to sunlight for too long. A white cover/shield/case would go a long way, but a case would not fit in this design. A redesign could allow more room for larger phones/cases. I might also want to lower the phone about an inch.
