Description

Replacement for a broken Rearview Mirror Braket for a 2017 Subaru Forester and it will probably work for a lot of other vehicles. The mirror is one of those that has no fancy features. and just has a ball joint braket attached to the glass. The ball joint on mine was frozen and someone over torqued it causing the braket to fail. I included the Blender file I used to create the replacement so anyone can modify/improve it. In Blender I used constructive geometery modifiers so any adjustment should be relatively easy to apply, if you know blender. I built this using a brim for adhesion and supports just on those things hanging over the build plate (cura setting). Used black PLA. 0.2 layer height was good enough. I had to cut off the old bracket. Be careful that you don't dammage the ball. Then once the bracket is printed clean it up with a strong utility knife. I put the new braket on a strong surface and holding bracket with the ball on it push down hard to get it to pop into the ball joint. You will need a small 3-32 screw and nut to tighten it up.
