AVRM "tank clock" mount for Mazda Miata
Shared by
3DPrintedCarPartDescription
Mount a Soviet-era AVRM "tank clock" in your Miata air vents! OK, it's maybe not the most functional, but it's fun. The clock is roughly 60mm in diameter, so it's a good match to NA/NB eyeball vents. It is a mechanical clock that is wound by rotating the bezel. To set it, you pull out the bezel and twist. Given that it was used in tanks and aircraft, it is unlikely to have problems with vibrations. They are readily available on eBay. I have two sample clocks, they are very slightly different in diameter. The uploaded model is for a clock that measures 60mm on the housing. My other is 59.5mm. Since the clock is a press fit into the printed housing, some fine-tuning may be required - I will be checking another couple of clocks to confirm fitment and may upload more models if necessary. Tolerances have to be fairly tight for this to work. Fusion360 file is included. Installation is simply a matter of pulling out out the vent and sticking the clock and adapter in place. Fits both the center and side vents. I would recommend test-fitting without the clock in place in case you have trouble getting the adapter out. The clock protrudes slightly from the vent so the bezel can be grasped and rotated. Mine is printed in ABS on an Ender3.
