Description

If you're in the habit of placing your laptop bag (or similar) in front of the seat on the passenger side of your car you may want this... Unrestrained your bag usually flies forward as you brake... this stops it! Print this handy little clip then get some seat belt webbing (approx.35 to 40mm wide... which is a common size used for shoulder straps on bags) and loop/attach it as shown in the images provided. You will need to work out the length required. However, if you modify a laptop bag shoulder strap (as I did) the clip is there to make it adjustable in length, To restrain your bag all you need to do is place the loop end of the webbing loop over the cars seat belt receptacle, pull and secure the seat belt as if there was a passenger in the seat (so the Bag Restrainer is secured in place) then loop the other end of the strap through your bags handle and attach the 3D printed clip back onto the strap to secure it from flying forwards. Making the strap is easy... the easy way is to modifying an existing shoulder strap from a bag, cutting it to suit the required length, then hand stitching it (if required) back into a loop). IMPORTANT NOTE: When installed correctly the closed side of the 3D printed clip must be on the same side as the seat belt receptacle. This ensures the clip can't pull away from the strap as the strap is pulled towards the closed side of the clip.. NISSAN VERSION: There are two.stl files attached. One is for the Restraining Clip only. The second includes a seat belt buckle that clips directly into a late model Nissan (Qashqai) seat belt receptacle. This means you don't have to pull the seat belt across and use it to secure the loop end of the strap you've made. Just a neater solution for Nissan owners.... If you like this take time to check out my other designs!
