Description

This is a very specific BMW Diesel Engine "Thing". Actually I made it for my BMW 320D E91 LCI (2011) with the N47N Engine. This diesel engine is equipped with an EGR System as well as with an EGR cooling system. Unfortunately the EGR Cooler leads to an annoying tick-tick noise if it will be activated. The EGR Cooler is btw also equipped with an by-pass during the warm up phase until the cooling water has reached 60°C. Afterwards the cooler will be activated by an valve. This valve/regulator will be controlled by an vacuum switch. If you bypass the vacuum switch you will ensure that the EGR cooler will never be active because the vacuum will open the EGR bypass constantly. BTW, over 2800 RPM the the EGR Cooler is never be active and the EGR cooler bypass is active. So actually you just change the part load behavior. The EGR valve itself will still work. The Thing here will be click in the EGR Cooler bypass switch and hold the hose connector which will bypass the switch. The small plugs are for closing the vacuum switch connections to prevent dirty to get insert. Just use shrink hose and these plugs. By this it is ensured that you can easily rebuild the mod the standard config, Hope that makes sense for you;)....you will find more information in terms of this mod by using google or so. The engine cannot be damaged by this mod, but for sure any mod will be done on your own risk and this mod is just for testing purposes because the NOx of your engine will be increased during part load operation.
