Description

Ready to save $15 on a Nissan OEM Part? Older Nissan owners have long grappled with the rubber stoppers that deteriorate over time as YouTube and the forums are filled with questions like "Cruise Control stopped working" or "Brake lights are on when the vehicle is off". This part replaces Nissan 46584-5P010, previously 46512, that fits the following models: 240SX, 350Z, Altima, Frontier, Maxima, Pathfinder, Sentra, Versa, and Xterra. See https://parts.nissanusa.com/p/89736453/46584-5p010.html for full details on location and installation. This replacement is a two-part solution with the stopper portion and a cap to snap the stopper into place. The brake and cruise control operate on a switch that is depressed when the brake petal is not engaged however when the rubber stopper is not present, the switch is no longer engaged (making the vehicle think the brakes are engaged). Fit the stopper into the brake pedal (facing the driver and the switch) and press the cap into the rear of the stopper. I know it's tight getting in there, but I've replaced the broken part for both the cruise control and brake lights in my 2004 Nissan Xterra.
