Description

BMW issued a DMCA takedown on this part. I received no notification that it had happened. I received no notification that moderation chose to put my part back up. I received no notification that the title had changed. Support the EFF and the ACLU folks. That Random Big Company can censor your from-whole-cloth work is outrageous. # Why'd you make these? ~~My BMW roof rack came with plastic caps on the ends of the transverse tubes. Unfortunately they are a loose fit and they've all fallen off over the course of a year or two. That's not a huge deal, but it makes some noise and spiders like to live inside the tubes.~~ Scratch that. The engineers at BMW don't seem to know how to tolerance a part and a process, and their sloppy work littered the freeway with what used to be my rack's end caps. But the beauty of open-source 3D printing is that I can design my own replacement, print it myself, and post it online for others. These are tight-fitting replacements. Yes, I had to hammer them in place. That's intentional.
