Description

I decided to try using a tablet as a navigation system in my jeep wrangler. As this was an experiment, I didn't want to drill a bunch of holes in the dash. These corner mounting pieces are bolted (6-32) to a rectangle of 3mm birch plywood to securely hold the tablet. The plywood backing plate is then hung off two metal brackets that are secured to the dash via two of the hidden radio mounting screws. Power is supplied from the lighter socket via a usb charging plugin and charging cable. To access the mounting screws, one needs to remove the top dash cover over the radio by prying up on the edge of the cover closest to the windshield. There are 2 clips holding it in place and when released, the cover will hinge up and can be easily removed. There is a compass sensor with wiring mounted on the bottom of this cover, so take it easy when removing the cover.
