Description

This shell locks over a Tesla - J1772 adapter, holds a Chargepoint card, and adds grip contours to make it easier to get out later. My workplace has free Chargepoint charging via J1772. To use with a Tesla, you need to get out both the adapter, and either a cell phone or Chargepoint card to authenticate. I got annoyed having to carry out two separate things, so I made this. A living hinge and tiny hook lock the shell against the drainage hole on the bottom of the adapter without blocking it. The Chargepoint card is mostly-hidden, but can be extracted if necessary. There's a pin-hole on the bottom to push it back out if it gets stuck. Chargepoint cards in this size can be ordered from the Chargepoint website. I've been using this for a few weeks and it's been great- no more fumbling for my phone while holding the j1772 adapter and also all my work stuff. Printed in PLA because that was the only red filament I had. Obviously, it's more important to match the color of your car than worry about small things like durability. Roughly 2 hour print on my heavily-modified Creator Pro. The "for bigger hands" file has 5mm extra gap between the card holder and the ring.
