Description

This design is still a work in progress... Custom Radio Frame and Duckett for NA Mazda Miata / MX-5. With only ever using the Bluetooth feature on the aftermarket headunit fitted to my MX5 NA, I decided to design my own "hidden" headunit. Main goals where: - instant bluetooth connectivity with my phone - volume up/down and skip track functionality - clean / minimalist look - high amperage / fast charge usb socket - large duckett / storage area to store mobile phone / wallet / etc - provision an analogue clock (still work in progress) Shout out to "undrwd", it was their Radio Blank Plate I used as a starting point for this design. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3369273 To make it quicker and easier to print, I split the model into several parts and then glued them all together. The design bolts to the back side of the dash tombstone with 6 off Pozi Flanged Self Tapping Srews that I had left over from another project. As they were too long, I printed some spacers. If there is enough interest, I might post the wiring diagrams (was a total nightmare as the wire colours in my car didn't match anything I found online, apparently an issue with some earlier JDM spec cars) Currently printed in PLA as will be reprinting soon to include the Clock and capture any other design improvements. (The Sun is not hot enough in Scotland to melt PLA haha). The Eunos badge is a remix of Omdoyas design, you can find the details here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5389972 The Bluetooth reciever: PowerBass XL-50BT The Amplifier: Kenwood KAC-M1814 (mounted it to the back of the glovebox).
