Description

See updates below. Very nice original model. Thanks for sharing! I prefer to use screws over printed pins and like to avoid supports when possible, so I remixed these frunk hooks to use M3 screws. It's a little klugey - not sure if the original STLs were screwy or if it's because I imported the STLs into Sketchup to modify, That gets a little dicey sometimes. However, they print and work great. I merely replaced the pins on the hook with an M3 through-hole and sized the holes in the hook base appropriately. The hook through-hole doesn't actually go all the way through (too much trouble to fix the non-parallel surfaces using Sketchup) in the stl but the wall is so thin that it printed as a through-hole for me. I printed with black PETG at.2 layer height, 3 perimeters and 30% fill. They feel very stout. The cap-head M3 screws thread directly into the base and I'm sure will be plenty strong. I used M3 x 10 mm. Shorter ones will work just fine. Longer ones will not as they will hit in the middle. I also used matte black wrap vinyl to cover the exposed hook surface. Looks nice. Yes, those in the installation photo are the printed versions. Update 3/25/2020: New hook files (the "A" versions). The through-hole was.4 mm out of position compared to the original model. Hole was moved and is now perfectly aligned with parent. I have not printed these versions but they should be otherwise identical. Update 5/13/20: Gawd, I hate the redesigned Thingiverse interface! Where did the link to the parent design go? This design is a remix of: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4081529 by HappyPEJ.
